After the success of the last two Songwriter Circle tours, I’m very happy indeed to be back on the road… Great fun these – come a’ ye:
James Yorkston / Kris Drever (Lau) / Withered Hand
Three outstanding singer songwriters, onstage together throughout, sharing songs and stories.
James Yorkston, named as the “Finest songwriter of his generation” by the great John Peel, James has led a varied and critically-acclaimed career: an original member of The Fence Collective, a highly-praised author, a member of genre-defying Yorkston Thorne Khan and sometime folk-club organiser. “One of the most influential singer/songwriters on the Scottish folk scene” – The Scotsman
Scottish songwriter Kris Drever celebrated a decade of critical and commercial success by winning both BBC Radio 2 Folk Singer of The Year 2017 and Best Original Track 2017. “Completely infectious” – BBC Music *****. “Utterly stunning” – fRoots. Kris is a member of the celebrated British folk trio Lau.
Withered Hand – aka Dan Wilson. His two albums, ‘Good News’ and ‘New Gods’, have garnered accolades and been praised for their depth and startling honesty. A Rolling Stone ‘Artist to Watch’. “Endlessly lovable” – NME. “Enlightening, wry and devastating but most of all, it’s life-affirming” – The Quietus.
